《美國國情：美國歷史文化（第2版）》編寫中把以美國歷史文化發(fā)展為線索，展現(xiàn)美國各段歷史進(jìn)程中的國家概況，既訓(xùn)練語言技能，也豐富相關(guān)知識(shí)。涉及了系統(tǒng)的歷史內(nèi)容，幫助讀者了解美國各段歷史時(shí)期的重大事件，系統(tǒng)介紹美國歷史文化發(fā)展背景。
本次改版對(duì)難度有所調(diào)整，并增加教師資源包，以適應(yīng)不同層次學(xué)生的需要。根據(jù)閱讀材料的時(shí)效性進(jìn)行增刪。改版中增加“互聯(lián)網(wǎng)+”因素，通過二維碼呈現(xiàn)網(wǎng)絡(luò)資源，增強(qiáng)文化類教材的特色。
本套教材是國家哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)項(xiàng)目成果，獲得第六屆guojia級(jí)教學(xué)成果優(yōu)秀成果獎(jiǎng)、遼寧省兩級(jí)教學(xué)成果一等獎(jiǎng)。

常俊躍，大連外國語大學(xué)英語學(xué)院院長。主持并完成國家哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)項(xiàng)目“英語專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)階段內(nèi)容依托式教學(xué)改革研究”，主持并正在進(jìn)行國家社會(huì)科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目立項(xiàng)“內(nèi)容依托教學(xué)理論指導(dǎo)下英語專業(yè)整體課程體系的改革與實(shí)踐研究”。 負(fù)責(zé)的專業(yè)2010年獲guojia級(jí)特色專業(yè)建設(shè)點(diǎn)。
