平方公里陣SKA是國際上在建的超大天文觀測項目。該項目由包括中國在內的很多國家共同參與,通過建立一眾射電望遠鏡陣列,形成等效鏡面面積達平方公里量級的觀測能力。這一設施建成后,無疑是人類曾經建立的極強大的天文觀測設備。本書作者是中國SKA項目的牽頭科學家,本書詳細探討了中國參與SKA項目的歷史、研究現狀和未來規劃。本書對于SKA項目的介紹非常細致,既是國內在這一方面工作的總結與展望,也是對這一項目有興趣的讀者了解SKA項目的非常好的渠道。

秦波,中國科學院國家天文臺研究員,博士生導師。主要從事宇宙學與暗物質研究,發表多篇研究論文。受科技部委托,作為中方代表,先后任職國際SKA組織戰略委員會、出資工作組、政府間正式談判工作組及董事會等,并參與撰寫了“中國SKA白皮書”。
