《電子信息類專業英語（第2版）》由24個主題單元組成，選材力求豐富、多樣，涵蓋電子信息領域的主要技術分支。教學參考學時為64學時，分兩個學期教學使用。第1、2單元介紹科技英語的基礎知識，說明科技英語的特點和學習科技專業英語應注意的問題、翻譯的準則和技巧等，旨在提高學生的翻譯能力。第13、14單元介紹科技英語的寫作基礎、英語寫作一般知識，旨在提高學生的寫作能力。其他20個單元每個包括三篇文章，其中PassageA、PassageB為精讀部分，給出單詞、短語、課文注釋，并配有適量的、形式豐富的練習題，培養學生應用英語的能力。PassageC為泛讀部分，供讀者自學用。通過對《電子信息類專業英語（第2版）》的學習，可以使讀者掌握一定量的專業詞匯及術語，了解科技文獻的表達特點，提高閱讀和理解原始專業英語文獻的能力，掌握英語翻譯技巧，開闊視野。
