《外國語言文學研究文庫·事件：構式框架與現代漢語復雜致使-結果構式》針對構式語法中存在的問題，提出一個事件，構式框架，指出構式語法的關鍵問題在于沒有明確事件在構式中的作用，錯誤地將事件所發揮的作用歸于構式。事實上，事件在語言習得中意義重大。
《外國語言文學研究文庫·事件：構式框架與現代漢語復雜致使-結果構式》從事件的角度研究構式，指出從說話者體驗一個事件到最后用語言進行表征，經歷了六個層次，即：經驗事件、概念事件、框架事件、凸顯事件、構式事件和詞匯化事件。在這一框架中，事件是認知過程中人們對現實世界進行表征的心理依據，指的是人們日常生活中所經歷的常規行為事件。它受到時間和空間的制約，其組成要素主要包括事件參與者、行為、道具和結果。事件一構式框架認為事件是語法研究中不可或缺的組成部分，旨在將對事件的描述與對構式的理解聯系起來。“經驗事件”是指人類日常生活中所經歷的時間和空間限定的一切事件。“經驗事件”可以抽象成為“概念事件”。“概念事件”是對具體經驗事件中參與者和事件類型的初步抽象。
