《21世紀實用英語視聽說教程》是“十二五”職 業教育國家規劃教材“21世紀實用英語系列教材”中 的一種，根據《高職高專教育英語課程教學基本要求 》和《高等學校英語應用能力考試（口試）大綱》設 計和編寫，旨在通過真實而有時代氣息的場景、地道 而又生動的語言、實用而又豐富的知識、多樣而又活 潑的練習提高學生的英語聽說能力。本教程包括“學 生用書”和“教學參考書”（每種分為1—4冊）及配 套的MP3光盤、多媒體課件和網絡課程等，供高職高 專院校普通英語教學使用，也可供高職高專院校英語 專業教學使用。
本教程在編寫設計上充分體現學生在教學過程中 的主體地位和教師的引導作用，選材全面、真實，聽 、說技能訓練緊密契合，題材生動、體裁豐富、語言 材料多樣。本教程可以獨立使用，也可以作為《21世 紀實用英語》系列教材的一部分與系列內其他教材配 套使用。
本書為《21世紀實用英語視聽說教程教學參考書 》第2冊，由梁正溜、李秀明、杜鸚主編，共8個單元 ，每個單元均與“學生用書”的內容完全呼應，涵蓋 其全部內容，并在相應的地方提供教學目標、視聽材 料原文和練習參考答案，且所有增加內容均用彩色標 出，同時用S－X標明這些內容在學生用書中的頁碼， 以方便教師使用。
