《化工專業英語》可作為化工類專業高職高專學生的教材，也可作為化工領域廣大科技人員的參考書。
《化工專業英語》主編張小軍教授通過二十余年專業英語教學實踐，集中結構合理、專兼結合、敬業負責的團隊智慧，在校本教材的基礎上編寫形成該《化工專業英語》教材。將專業能力、英語能力與應用能力三者有機融合；教材編寫定位準確——主要是借助英語工具，開展化工專業實踐，提升專業實踐的層次與水平，拓展職業生涯，而不是通過化工專業實踐去鞏固英語知識；教材編寫層次分明、條理清楚，注重以普通英語教學、專業英語教學、雙語教學這個“大英語教學觀”視野來審視《化工專業英語》教學工作；注重強化應用，貼近先進化工制造業的生產實踐，符合現代化工行業企業需求，緊密結合化工生產實際，跟蹤化工行業先進技術與綠色、環保、節能、清潔生產、責任關懷等現代化工先進理念；教材裝幀設計大方美觀、圖文并茂。本教材是“江蘇省高等學校精品教材”。
張小軍，南京科技職業學院（南京化工職業技術學院），教學副院長教授。
具有化工、英語、教育經濟與管理3個專業學習和教學背景，有下企業指導學生進行化工專業實踐經歷。在23年的教學生涯中一直承擔《化工專業英語》、《大學英語》及《有機合成工藝》等化工類專業課程教學工作。近5年榮獲“全國化工職業院校教學名師”、江蘇省“333工程高層次人才培養工程”首批中青年科學技術帶頭人、江蘇省“青藍工程”**青年骨干教師、江蘇省高等教育教學成果獎2次。
