本書本著“夠用、實用”的原則進行編寫。全書分為兩個部分：第一部分為花店英語，共4個單元；第二部分為景觀英語，共10個單元。每個單元均設置了單詞學習、情境對話、知識拓展、自評自測和英語幽默小故事，避免了過多枯燥的單詞、詞組和語句記憶，力求貼近園林專業實際。附錄給出了園林工程師考試詞匯和花卉英文名稱對照，方便考證和查詢。
